Hoon, Hewitt & Byers Have Whip Suspended

Brown plotters Hoon and Hewitt as well as Tony's mate Byers have all tonight had the Labour Whip suspended following the Dispatches programme which revealled that the individuals focused upon where in fact soliciting cash for influence.

Basically all three, who are standing down at the next election are now suspended from the Parliamentary Labour Party, but this does not mean they will lose salary or perks in the remaining two or so weeks before Parliament is dissolved.  This is a token slap on the wrist for the boys and girls on the way out just before their big pay-offs.  Moran has already had the Whip suspended over expenses... she didn't look to ill on camera touting for cash, did she!

The big questions are now these:

1. Why did Gordon Brown insist no investigation would be necessary?  He has suspended the trio within an hour of the Dispatches programme airing.  What information was shared with him, was he lied to earlier today?

2. Is Gordon Brown now admitting he was wrong to insist prematurely that no investigation was needed?

3.  Will the Police be invited to investigate?  The recorded interviews all took place away from Parliament.

4.  What are the Conservatives going to do in the new Parliament to make absolutely sure that the rules are clear and adhered to; how and when will wrong-doers be punished.

Gutless Labour

Led by a man who was too fearful to stand up the scruitiny of a leadership election, another Senior Labour Party MP has announced he is standing down at the next election bottled it .  This time, it is the man whose name has entered the English lexicon for all the wrong reasons.

At least Portillo had the stones to campaign for his party and stand on his record when he knew the end was coming... How you laughed and jeered; now you fear that you might be held to the same ridicule... pathetic.


Farewell Geoff, you will not be missed.  You utter, utter Hoon!

The Dark Lord Speaketh

I just flipped over to Sky News to see if anything interesting happened at Gordon Browns meeting with the Parliamentary Labour Party tonight (answer, no nothing interesting did happen...)

Then I spotted this quote attributed to the Dark Lord himself:

Lord Mandelson responded by emphasising the need for unity, saying that they would not allow others to "drive wedges between us".

To whom was he referring?

Was it Geoff Hoon? Patricia Hewitt? Hazel Blears? Frank Field? Charles Clarke? Caroline Flint? Harriet Harman? Ed Miliband? David Miliband? James Purnell?

Is Brown A Classic Bully?

There are so many MPs in the Mire that it is a challenge keeping up with all of their stories. However, that complete and utter hoon, Geoff Hoon MP, has thus far refused to acknowledge if he paid capital gains tax on the sale of his Lambeth property, where he trousered a £300,000.

However, Hazel Blears was summoned and duly ticked off by Gordon Brown for her flat sale and has since offered HMRC a cheque for c£13k the amount that should have been paid in capital gains tax.

Why was Hazel Blears ticked off and not Hoon? Blears did wrong, and although she has not been punished, she has taken action in the correct direction at Gordon Browns urging. Where is Hoon's refund?

Bullies often only pick on those they feel strong enough to tackle and leave alone those they don't fancy the look of. Is Geoff Hoon really too much of a heavyweight in Gordon Browns eyes? If so, that says way more about Brown than it does Hoon.

What of others, such as the Ball's/Cooper household? The Telegraph has been conspicuously silent on that one; as have Downing Street. Could it be because Balls is Browns protégé?

This story will not rest until there has been a General Election and a fresh house has the opportunity to clean up this mess.
