In Or Out?

Doug Carswell's Early Day Motion has been published today, and it's a simple question.
Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union?
The EDM will come before the Commons this month, and seeks to legislate and publically finance a UK wide referendum on continued membership of the EU; so now is the time to lobby your MP to vote in favour.

Until the day the public get to have their say on membership of the EU it will forever wrangle in the minds of many.  With a referendum, a vote for continued membership would strengthen the mainstream parties hand in Europe - but a No vote would require the UK Government to leave the EU.

Despite wanting out of the EU, I want the vote more.  If my country says via the ballot box that it wishes to remain then so be it, I shall forever be heartbroken by the decision but I will accept it as the end of a certain line of potential and of dreams that I have held for as long as I can remember.  But if a referendum is granted and the UK votes to leave, we can free ourselves of the direction set by the EU and make some positive changes to the way we live our lives, I think for the better.

Thank you Mr Carswell for having the guts and conviction to attempt this.

Only problem is G that, as I posted, Ms. Equality will never let this EDM be debated.

Mores the pity that Carswell and his supporters won't sign the Albion Alliance pledge. If they can do this now, why can't they promise to do it in the future? Weird!
